In short

Reversing into a parking space alongside the kerb, between two parked cars.

Parallel parking is one of the four reversing manoeuvres in the UK practical driving test. You position the car alongside the front car, reverse with full lock toward the kerb, then opposite lock to swing the front in.

The examiner is watching for control, observation, and an ending position within about 30 cm of the kerb. Re-positioning is a control fault, not a fail.
