Night before
- Sleep at your usual time (don't try to sleep extra-early — it backfires).
- Lay out: provisional licence, glasses, comfortable shoes, jacket.
- Re-read the show-me-tell-me list one final time.
- Set two alarms.
- Avoid alcohol entirely.
Morning of
- Light breakfast (no heavy carbs).
- If you have a habit drink, keep it — same routine, same caffeine.
- Arrive at the test centre 15 minutes early.
- Eyesight test from 20 metres — bring glasses if you need them.
- Adjust mirrors and seat before the examiner sits in.
Just before pulling away
- Doors closed, seatbelt on, handbrake on, neutral.
- Full mirror sweep before move-off.
- Pull away in your own time — the examiner doesn't time the start.
