In short

A mock road test is a full-test simulation done with your instructor or a calm friend, using one of the real published routes at your DMV center and your state's road-test scoring sheet. Drive it like the real thing. Do one 10 days out, one 3 days out.

Setup

Pick one of the harder published routes at your DMV center. Print your state's road-test scoring sheet. Set a 20-minute timer. Brief the instructor: 'Don't help me; score what an examiner would.'

Run it like the real test

Pre-trip vehicle inspection at the start. Drive the full route. One emergency-stop simulation. One manoeuvre your state tests (parallel park, 3-point turn, etc.).

Debrief

Count fault points. Identify the one habit responsible for the most points. Make that the focus of your next two practice sessions.
