In short
A US road-test manoeuvre for turning a car around in a narrow space; also called a K-turn.
A three-point turn (or K-turn) is the standard US road-test manoeuvre for reversing your direction of travel. The car traces a K-shape: forward-left into the road, reverse-right, forward in your new direction.
Most US states test the three-point turn on the road test. Observation at each move is what the examiner scores.
